It was dark inside the empty mall. It had closed hours ago, yet Missy still sensed people around. Vampires no doubt, but who, she could not place. She assumed, most were here to hide from hunters, or to hunt themselves, but she was here for a far different reason.
Missy walked swiftly in her long black skirt that flowed down to the ground, making it appear that she was floating. She wore a deep purple crushed velvet corset, over a black shirt with long vampiress sleeves. Her long dark hair curled slightly around her shoulders and then down farther her back. She was more pale than normal.
Missy could sense the others staring at her in awe. She could imagine why, she appeared as a ghost almost, although, she was not that. An angel of the shadows. She was here to start fulfilling her destiney. She could not let anything get in her way. Not her morals, past, or even friends. She was here to do one thing, and one thing only.
Missy walked down past the food court, and past the yells of young vampires who thought they were tough. She turned the corner to a long narrow hallway, and was interrupted by a man standing in her way. He looked at her, and with a gasp, quickly moved out of her way. She didn't even look at him.
She continued down the hallway until she reached a door. Pulling it open, she could hear the faint chants coming from inside. She didn't look around the room, she walked straight into the center of the room and was handed a chalice, containing a liquid.
Missy drank it quickly as the chanting became louder and faster. When she finished it, she walked out of the room, still not looking around. She would rather not know who was in there. She felt relieved and frightened at the same time as she quickly went back into the open area of the dark mall.
The first step, she had completed. But how long could she keep this all a secret?
Missy clutched the cross around her neck and was about to leave when she felt a hand upon her shoulder.
